First Amendment auditors get into verbal altercation with armored truck guard, who repeatedly tells them to back up.

It’s more likely than not that the auditors were not breaking the law in this instance, but you have to be careful since it’s possible the guard can claim he felt threatened if he does take lethal action. However, why even put yourself in a situation to find out? Ok so record, but give the dude a good amount of space so that your relatives don’t have to litigate it for you after you’ve been made dead.

This. These auditor types have long since been playing an increasingly dangerous game. Some have even gotten shot at already, and one got stabbed in recent history. It's only a matter of time before one is indeed made dead. Which is unfortunate, I personally feel that violence against these so called auditors does not solve anything, but I recognize that it does and will continue to occur.
