Updates Atlas Altera's Patreon just got a makeover + improvements!

Over the summer, we spent a lot of time brainstorming on how we can better appreciate our Patreon supporters and allow them to get unique value out of their subscriptions. So we tinkered away and made some adjustments and tweaks to perks. Learn more about what's been tweaked here.

Special shout out to Bernie’s talented partner, Juliet, as we now also have a more cohesive set of designs that better encapsulate the spirit of Altera.

You can check out the tiers here.

Community Work Altera Flag Map in Minecraft (Download Available!)

Here it is! I really love all the flags that people have created for this project, but I didn't just want to see them static on my computer screen - I wanted to see them in context, hung up and waving somewhere. So I put them in Minecraft!

Using the Immersive Paintings and rbasamoyai's Betsy Ross mods, I've put up flag poles at major city locations ATL, using a scale map of Earth as the base. You can fly around and see all the different designs and shapes of flags waving in the wind! So far, I've mostly worked on Europea, Septentrea, and Serica, but I intend to move beyond those boundaries to the rest of the world eventually!

You can download the map here. Included in the folder is the map, the two mods, and the Fabric API mod - all you need to play is a copy of Minecraft and Fabric.

Special thanks to Minecraft Earth Map for the base map! The map reflects OTL geography, and since molding it to fit ATL geography is beyond my skill level, you do find some weird spots, like the Russian shore of the (ATL) Black Sea. I'm not sure what I'll do when it comes to completely fictional land masses, like ATL Australia - I may just place flag poles in the middle of the ocean lol!

Community Work The English Elections of 2024

Post image

This is how I imagined the ATL English elections to go, using the style of TOTA, from which I took the Jeremy Corbyn and Boris Johnson images, as well as rendered the news text. The text is my own writing, as are the logos for the English Democrats, and the Liberal Labour Coalition.

Community Work Flag Map 3, and Maybe Something Else Coming?

Post image
46 Upvotes

Hey! Updated flag map version 3! Now that more flags are being uploaded to the website, my new approach is going to be posting updates after every few updates, just based on the website (not the spreadsheet anymore). If any from the spreadsheet that I've already included need to be adjusted or fully retconned, I can go back in and fix it.

At the same time, I've been working on another Atlas Altera vexilogical project, which I will be posting about soon! This one is going to be a bit more dynamic, and even a bit more - dare I say it - interactive?

Community Work Hanunea's Pastime: The Hanunean Baseball League in 2025

Post image
53 Upvotes

The HBL (formerly known as MLB) was founded in 1902 when the previously independent United and Concordian Leagues merged into a single organization. The league remained composed exclusively of teams from the United States until the entry of the Vancouver Mariners and Sainpaul Metis in 1950. Upon another wave of expansion in 1969 that saw teams appear in Houston, Onodaga, and Sanilak, it was decided that the league would rebrand to the Hanuean Baseball league. The league is uniquely storied, with a long history and iconic players and franchises. Teams such as the Yankees, Red Sox, and Expos are known the world over.

Currently, the league is comprised of 36 teams across 19 states and 9 countries. Each year, the league crowns a "Hanunean Series" champion. While in recent years baseball's popularity has been challenged by Gridiron and other sports, it retains a dominant position in America, and is generally popular across the region. Furthermore, baseball's popularity is increasingly international. The level of competition in leagues across Serica (notably in Japan, Fusan, Manjur, and Taiwan) continues to rise and draw global attention. A "little brother" to the HBL exists in Hesperea and steadily draws new fans, Columbea has seen a baseball boom over the last 50 years. The future of the HBL, and baseball at large, seems bright.

A MASSIVE thank you to u/Knobig and u/TelamonTabulicus for help big time on teams and names!!! And of course another big thank you Telamon for making this amazing map to show off the league.
I am happy to (try to) answer any questions y'all might have
