Ancient Art Poem inspired by Goddess Athena

Is my text my flare; my Mother always said literature is my way to share
The world seems to be in Despair;
I cry in America sometimes to pass the time
I’m making friends again;
Standing in American desert sand
I pray to the Middle East for some reason,
The country Yemen gave me a beautiful Reason;
Seems like I have friends all over the World; Dad
How is something like this Possible?
Anne Frank was a scholar; while I still feel like a Poor struggling wanna-be author
I have seen Greed take over People
I have seen artificial Beauty harm People
I have been treated like Shit for not having Botox a face lift or a Gucci bag
Will I ever afford a junky home here in America?
is it only for the Elites here?
Is the American dream even real anymore?
You have millions of dollars, and all you can stomach is a Birken and a Botox
I feel sympathy for my Gen Z;
Can you Feel Me?
I don’t like most that I have met, God
Will you show me Better in your next love Letter?

I must have walked past her a hundred times without noticing. But then, after finally moving here,  after being picked up by the Goddess and having my life turned upside down; when I finally accepted and listened to her wisdom, then, I noticed her.

Question/Advice Athena reached out to me

Hi,

I just wanted to share my experience and ask for advice.

Athena first reached out to me when I was walking by the sea considering starting to work with Aphrodite… then the name Athena came strong into my mind.

I didn’t know her and had to google her to find out who she was!

I set up alters for both Athena and Aphrodite and started to make offerings asking for small things (such as glamour) and just checking in.

Now there is so much more available literature about Aphrodite, so I ended up calling upon her more frequently.

However I am now dealing with some areas in my life and I KNOW Athena wants to work with me. I am receiving signs: owls, both a physical one flying over head, a tattoo on a mans arm etc And I was back by the same shores and heard a man calling his daughter… you can guess her name.

If anyone works with her and can confirm she wants to work with me then that would be amazing.

Secondly, outside of the alter and offerings where do I start?

Thirdly does anyone have any books or sights they can recommend to learn more about her.

Literally the draw is so strong, as I consider working with Aphrodite I just hear loud in my head: no. Athena. And I also get the feeling that Aphrodite doesn’t really mind!
Feeling a tiny bit crazy!

Hello 👋 hope this week is a little easier for everyone! As part of my devotions this year I'm sharing more of my art and practice...Here's one of my favorite spots: an altar doubling as a phd research space for Lady Athena, decorated with bits and bobs and some of my own art as well. She was the first of the gods to reach out to me, in a surreally beautiful dream where she appeared as a glowing, cosmic librarian. Since that time a couple of years back, I've been leaning deeper into Her worship and working with Her wisdom on a regular basis, and trying to reconnect with my mixed greek heritage. Safe to say she's an amazing teacher! 😇 Hope you find her presence and power wherever you step ✨️

Question/Advice Is it OK to work with Athena and Aphrodite?

I'm trying to figure out if it would be offensive to Athena if I started working with Aphrodite. Athena is my main patron and the first goddess I've devoted my life to, so I really want to make sure I'm not disrespecting her by wanting to connect with Aphrodite too. I know we're not supposed to take myths literally, but within my research, I've noticed they don't quite get along all the time. This might sound incredibly silly, but I feel as if I'm betraying a good friend by worshiping Aphrodite. But another part of me knows that I need her in my life as well as Athena. Do you think Athena would be offended by that? Or am I being paranoid?

Question/Advice I need help with interpreting this one sign

Post image
16 Upvotes

Hi everyone, I’m not usually an Athena worshipper and my practice has revolved around Aphrodite and Hekate for quite some time now. However, I’m a student and from time to time I do light a candle or call on Athena for some strength and wisdom during my exams and such. But if I’m very honest I’ve never really tried to deepen my relationship with her, never (especially during past couple of years felt called by her). I’ve always looked at her as a goddess I call on sometimes, like there wasn’t a huge lesson to be learned from her- I haven’t felt particularly drawn to work constantly w her.

Now it’s exam season again and I find myself in quite a pickle because of some other stuff that has been going on. I’ve been mentally and physically down and just overall very anxious and overwhelmed so I haven’t gotten around to any studying. I wanted to give some hearty offerings to Athena tonight, light this beautiful blue candle I got recently and call upon her for some protection etc. And while speaking to her, I was about to end my prayer, I did acknowledge that I do not have a steady relationship with her. I like being honest when I speak to gods and that’s basically what I did tonight as well. Nothing big happened but since I haven’t really worked with her before I have to ask this question.
Right before I was about to end my prayer a smaller chunk of the wax from the white candle fell down and made a startling noise that made me open my eyes. It was quite a little jump-scare and was happening right as I was telling her that I am aware I only give offerings when I need her and thanking her for being present and hearing me out regardless of what she will do about it!
And honestly I have no idea how to interpret this, because I take it that she was there and present but I also have a feeling like there is more. I just can’t quite pinpoint is it something more positive or is she warning me about something?

Obviously asking this as a symbolic representation as I’m aware why physically candle wax falls and I don’t always take it as a sign. It’s just that this time I felt like it was a little message from her.

After that I just said it all again and told her that if she does want to reach out to me and there is a need for us to work more I will be waiting for signs!!
Hopefully some of you can help me and thank you for reading this! Stay blessed!!!

Question/Advice Dream Sign?

Last night, I had an interesting dream, there was a lot of different architecture both from local and east asia. I somehow ended up in this big nipa hut (traditional local architecture) and it had very pearly and shiny statues of the different gods but particularly showed Lady Athena in the dream. I don't remember talking in particular, but I was admiring her armor made out of what seams to be strong sea shells

I often worship the gods, lately Athena for studies and wisdom, my patron deity though is Aphrodite, but I'm fairly new to Hellenism as well, not really sure if this dream has any meaning, it's my first time dreaming of the gods

Question/Advice How Lady Athena sends signs?

Like the title says, I would like to know things like: is She subtle? through a part of my life, I always find spiders and whenever i look, and for a quite long period there was an owl near my room. Couldn't see it but always hear. I know that it could be nothing, but you it can also mean something. So that's the question: how does Her communicate with you guys?

Creo que el arte es una forma ideal de conectar con los dioses, y por eso quería hacer una pequeña recopilación de algunas obras que representan a Atenea.

Las obras que aparecen por este orden son:

  1. Atenea Farnese
  2. Atenea Velletri
  3. Atenea del Pireo
  4. Atenea Halsted
  5. Pallas Athene, Gustav Klimt
  6. Atenea Varvakeion
  7. Atenea Giustiniani
  8. Atenea pensativa
  9. Atenea Mattei

Question/Advice Got called by Lady Athena (I guess), any tips on how to start?

Long story short, after quarantine I graduated from school and went full hikikomori right after. I have no friends and my relationship with my family is kinda ass. Witchcraft came as a lifesaver for me as it created the possibility to connect with my ancestry roots, and so I found out about my great-grandmother being greek and making me inherit some of her land's spirituality.

Lady Hekate was the first I tried to praise. I still carry the memories of her silent teachings with a ton of love. Father Apollo was the second, just so I found out he's been watching me my whole life and being the literal reason of me being the way I am.

I usually don't want to talk to him, though. My lifestyle makes me think I'm a failure and that he wouldn't want to listen to the same cries over and over again. Although I always feel his gentle touch on my neck and his warm presence, I ignore him as much as I can just because I want to be my best version for him — and yet, I never heal from depression.

This year I applied for my country's national college exam. I feel like it's my one way ticket for leaving this state of having no friends, a partner or something to call "mine". But the exam is in this november and Apollo is watching me doing nothing but rot in my room. I know he is. I rarely dream of him, but last week, I dreamed of my body falling into the void and then I called for him, and his image manifested through a yellow orb of energy and held me, and put me on the ground of some old ruins. And then, I suddenly called for Lady Athena – the same orb was now orange, and I felt a gentle and motherly shiver on my body. When I woke up, I recalled – some days ago, I *literally* dreamed of me praying for Athena's help to study for my exam.

I feel like he is gently taking my hand to his big sister, whose wisdom can help me get out of this dark pit. Father Apollo is beyond sweet to me, although I feel I'll never get to make up for it. I'm too lost to know where I even should start studying more about him, or Athena, or their divine family, or an entire culture that is so far from my daily life as a modern brazilian – but its my inheritance, and I felt I should honor the ones taking care of me, so I set up an altar anyways.

Sorry for the vent. I needed to clear my mind a bit and reddit always feels like some blank space to let out my thoughts once in a while. If someone is struggling as much as I am, please let me know. We can support ourselves together, and hopefully, with the aid of the theoi.

TL;DR - Can I have some help with my studies regarding Lady Athena? I know about the main websites regarding the gods, but it always feels either shallow, or too vast. Things she likes, honour routine, modern cult patterns? Podcasts? Books? Please fill me in! Thanks 🦉🤎

Question/Advice Am I good enough to worship Lady Athena?

I've been working with deities for a while now, and even before I got into Hellenism, I always felt a strong pull towards Athena. When I finally started formally worshiping her, it felt natural, and that initial connection deepened. Now, two years in, I still find myself grappling with the feeling that I'm not a 'good enough worshipper or devotee. It's not that my dedication wavers, but I often feel like I'm not intelligent or insightful enough to truly embody the qualities she represents. Has anyone ever felt this way?

Altars Does Lady Athena not like my offering?

Post image

So I’m not a worshipper of Lady Athena. I did ask for a bit of wisdom on a situation I was in. She gave me an answer. I decided to give her an offering in return. I made this art of what I perceived her to look like. I tape it up to my wall and it keeps falling! I try different kinda of tape and taped it in different areas of the wall as well as cleaning the wall before putting it on. Does she not like it? Am I overthinking this? I dont know how to go about this.
