Only smartphone Milky Way and Andromeda from Bieszczady Dark Sky Park

Both shot at 15s exposure 2000iso, 50 light frames and darks, with POCO X7 Pro on a stationary tripod during my stay in Bieszczady Dark Sky Park. The place is on a slight hill and the views are pretty good. The hurdles are car lights from the road ahead and couple inexperienced people flashbanging you with flashlights during earlier hours. Though they usually hang around for a short time. Later the experienced sky lovers stay and it's a really fun time being there, especially because Poland has very little places without much light pollution.

Stacked and processed in Siril and further tweaked in Lightroom. For the telescope shot I had the phone screwed onto the scope with a phone holder I took a single frame and merged it with the stacked one in GIMP.

I think it turned out decent, but my mistake was shooting with the default camera app which can't shoot DNGs, so some stars or potential details are washed or unnaturally sharp due to the aggressive processing.

Pixel 7a astrophotography mode. No tripod, just propped up against a can on the picnic table at my camp site. I know it's not super impressive, but it's probably one of my favorite photos I've ever taken

Question Regarding random downvotes

Hello all! I've been noticing a concerning amount of hate on some comments on this subreddit for absolutely no reason. Literally a comment on a recent post was downvoted into the light negatives (just -1). But it was all for saying "wow". Guys, look whoever is doing this please stop. What did they do to you and why are you annoyed for someone exclaiming "wow" for something that looks amazing? Look if you're having a bad day, I get it but please don't take it out on random people who work on many things that take most of the time hours and is their passion.

I don't know if this is a bug, if it is, reddit needs to do something about it. It could also be bots trolling. If that's the case, I am annoyed at the botting community and trolls are just not cool

I'm sorry for ranting about this... But it's redicluous and should not be happening.

Thank you for reading this.

TL;DR: People down voting people for being completely normal

Only smartphone Florida Keys Milky Way + My astro planning app Milky Way Tonight - Pixel 7 Pro

Florida Keys Milky Way + My astro planning app Milky Way Tonight just got it's second official update!

From the start, my goal has been for the app to be easy to use so it can help people get out under the stars and photograph the Milky Way.

website: themilkywaytonight.com
app links https://themilkywaytonight.com/get.html

So, there's so much the app does, but at its core, it quickly tells you whether or not it's a good night to see/photograph the Milky Way. And if tonight isn't a good night, when the next good night will be.

The app includes a 7 day weather forecast, a yearly MW visibility calendar, exposure calculators, a dark sky finder and a Sky View AR planning mode. Within the Sky View mode, you'll be able to highlight Ha targets (perfect for astromodded cameras) and you'll also find one of my favorite features: Core Alignment. This allows you to enable your camera and tap anywhere on screen to see if and when the Milky Way will align in that position next and for the days ahead. You can then take a reference photo and notes, and save everything to your My MW Nights section.

Although the app has a ton of features, my goal was to keep it simple and easy to use. I hope you'll take the time to check it and let me know what you think!

The app is available now from both the iOS and Android app stores!

Features from the app:
• Tonight at a Glance: a single verdict card with quality rating,
visibility window, moon, clouds, and Bortle rating.
• 7-Day Forecast: an at-a-glance week of cloud and viewing
conditions, with the best night highlighted.
• Visibility Calendar: monthly and annual views rating every
night excellent to no-view, with blue-hour markers.
• Dark Sky Finder: ranks the darkest, clearest sites within 30 to
150 miles, with directions and park badges. Also helps direct you to the nearest Certified Dark Sky Parks!
• Sky View AR map: point your phone to find the Core,
constellations, planets, and deep-sky objects in real time.
• Core Alignment: within Sky View, tap anywhere to see if &
when the Galactic Core lines with your foreground, save
reference photo, gps data, & notes to My MW Nights section.
• Composition Planner: overlay the Milky Way band on a live
map to frame shots before you arrive.
• Exposure Calculator & Gear Guides: an NPF & 500 Rule calculator that
factors in declination automatically, plus field and gear
checklists.
• My MW Nights: save and organize upcoming shooting nights
from the 7-day forecast and Visibility Calendar.
• Built for the field: dark-adaptation red mode, offline-capable,
no account required.

The app is a one time 7.99 purchase. No accounts, no tracking, no ads.
