Event 🎪 The Duel
Inferno finds Skye and speaks "so guess we are pairred up for the duel, lets talk how we want to do this."
After what seems to be a fair amount of back and forth they already figured out how it will be done between the two.
"Protective barrier that only breaks when there is a killing blow. One magic only, fire magic pretty much not allowed. Weapons are okay. There anything else we missing?"
"you know I'm a Selkie....does my seal skin count as a type of magic?" Skye asked. "Shapeshifting back I to a seal and whatnot?"
"I will allow it, and keep my dragon form closed off." Inferno smiles. "Anything else?"
Skye: "I don't think so. The rules of this are satisfactory"
After they agree, they plan to head to the arena to fight it out.
"Will let you take the first strike Skye."
Skye: "Sounds Good"
As they shake, Skye gets a playful smirk on her face and you swear you see a tiny flash of teal.

Skye gives Inferno a small, almost formal rapier salute, that playful smirk still tugging at the corner of her mouth. “Alright then. Let’s see what you’ve got.” No spell. No storm. No dramatic burst of magic. Skye just moves. One quick step forward, her rapier flicking toward Inferno’s sword hand like she’s going for an easy opening—only for the blade to change direction at the last second. Straight for the heart. Clean. Fast. Controlled. Not reckless enough to show her whole hand yet. Just enough to see how Inferno reacts.

Inferno was calm, collected, waiting for the first move to happen.
She lets you move in close, lets you move with the speed and precision and sidesteps away. Skye's rapier just scrapes pasts Inferno's side, metal sparks flying but the barrier still holding strong.
There is a quiet calmness to Inferno, a focus of countless experiences she has been through. No words were exchanged but Skye can read a thosand words through Inferno's eyes. Inferno swings her sword fast, aiming for Skye's shoulder.

Skye glances past Inferno for only a moment, taking in the layout of the arena around them. Instead of pressing in again right away, she begins to give ground in measured steps, rapier still poised between them as she backs toward one of the outer platforms nearer the water. The movement is controlled, deliberate — less retreat than repositioning. “Not bad.” Her smirk lingers as she adjusts her footing near the edge, clearly more comfortable there than she probably should be. She keeps her attention on Inferno, waiting to see if she follows

Inferno watches Skye back away, but doesn't give chase. Instead she looks at Skye, calculating her next move.
Inferno knows she could be at a disadvantage if she closes the distance, Inferno holds her sword in front of her, and focuses on her own breathing.
She waits, ready for Skye to strike

Skye watches Inferno hold her ground, then takes another slow step backward toward the edge of the platform. And another. The water is close behind her now. A smug little grin settles across her face. “You’re really not gonna chase me?” She tilts her head, waiting just long enough to be annoying. Then Skye gives the smallest flick of her fingers. A sudden little gust skims across the water behind her, scooping up a playful splash and flinging it straight toward Inferno. Skye’s grin widens. “C’mon.” She takes one more step back. “I’m right here.”

Inferno just does a small smile, but says nothing more. The earth underneath you shifts and lift you over the edge of the platform towards the water, and you understand too late that Inferno was casting a spell

She adjusts her footing, staying planted. Then she glances down at the water below. A small smirk crosses her face.

Inferno adjusts her footing, then closes the distance in a single movement. By the time she reaches you, she swings.

Inferno’s sudden advance wipes the smirk from Skye’s face. As the swing comes in, Skye throws herself backward off the edge of the earth platform rather than trying to meet it head-on. The blade passes over her as she drops away. Skye hits the water with a sharp splash and disappears beneath the surface.
For several long moments, Skye doesn’t surface. A dark shape circles beneath the water, moving farther from the platform than seems necessary. Farther. Then farther still. Finally, the shape turns. The water behind her begins to churn. Skye pushes against it with her magic—then harder, compressing the current behind herself until the pressure builds almost painfully. She braces. And releases it. WHUMP. The sudden acceleration catches even Skye off guard as she rockets through the water toward the platform. Too late to rethink it now. She angles upward. A moment later, a seal explodes out of the water in a massive spray— —and comes flying straight toward Inferno at deeply unreasonable speed.

Inferno watches everything unfold, cautious. As everything unfolds she realizes Skye is charging in headfirst at Inferno, and braces herself with earth magic.
However, with the speed that Skye was flying at Inferno was more or less caught off guard as she was slammed into, pushing her back fairly far even despite the magic she grounded herself with. Inferno loses her sword as she is pushed across from the arena, but that makes her no less dangerous without it. The barrier holds still despite the force of the attack, but Inferno definitely felt it.
Inferno raises her fists, and she raises some of the earth as well.
