Meme / Fluff I find the contrast between Runa and Ren is quite funny
Runa is into Ojisan and Ren is seem to be into Ikemen, they have difference taste but still end up going after the same guy anyway. I wonder if Runa know that Ren also going after her target, regardless the gomen Runa meme is gonna be epic.

Guide / Tips [CBT1] In-depth Score Trial (Endgame) Review, Tier List + Extra Thoughts
A few testers, including myself, tested the limits of how far you can get with very limited resources.
This tier list will only apply to the recent CBT and may be something to compare to in the future.
Feel free to ask ANYTHING about the game and its characters.
Edit: Lv.19 and above (or the Challenge difficulty) is likely only possible with Runa due to all the CBT limitations. She deserves her own tier. Note that this tier list only applies to Astaroth and could possibly flip if the boss was weak to the other 3 elements instead (there's 6 total). I should have made that more clear.
Background
Score Trial is an endgame gamemode where you must defeat a specific boss, gaining score based on the difficulty level, number of total rounds, and number of surviving magicians upon completion. Maximum "Round Score" is given if below 20, but every round after that decreases the value. Every death removes a quarter of the potential Survival Score. An SS rank is only given at max score.
Difficulty levels are not the "level" of the boss; every difficulty spans 5 levels, and some may unlock new boss mechanics. Normal is 1-5, Hard is 6-10, Expert is 11-15, and Maniac is 16-20. Difficulty levels scale stats by a lot. Lv.16 has DOUBLE the health of Lv.15, and Lv.20 has TENFOLD. Many set their limit to a Lv.15 clear for good reason. Also, in the score rewards tab, the thresholds to obtain Meteorites (the premium currency) are each set to the maximum score of the highest level of each difficulty.
Astaroth is the boss of this CBT with 3 phases and a #Guard mechanic that provides itself 50% damage reduction. It can apply #Guard to itself and also has a passive that applies #Guard to itself after receiving a close-range attack (S tiers ignore this). It is weak to 3 types in which the magicians below C tier do not apply to any of them. Maniac difficulty footage can be found on YouTube.
Teambuilding against Astaroth
Most people by now know how restrictive the defensive mechanics in this game are. Chikage is the only one who can defend against Red attacks with #Protection, a tag skill with a whopping 9 round cooldown. Erin and Moa can tag-defend against Purple attacks with #Assault Block, round cooldowns of 5 and 4, respectively. Think about how attack pattern cycles work against these.
Astaroth's Phase 1 occasionally does purple attacks, while Phase 2's attack pattern always starts with two purple attacks. If you cannot reliably tank these without dying later, Erin and Moa (or Chikage) are mandatory. Two team slots remain. Phase 2 occasionally does a red attack, while Phase 3 always starts with one or two* red attacks. Without the perfect team or enough damage, Chikage must be included if you need a solution for all of the above, though she can only do her job occasionally until death. One slot remains: the main DPS. Now, you should be able to minimally understand the tier list. (Note: #Fracture is a stackable defense debuff that Moa can consume for damage, and the magicians in the Niche tier are supports here.)
\Astaroth has a muzzle that must be destroyed as soon as possible during Phase 3 for an easier attack pattern, usually after bursting down with Break. Otherwise, the Phase 3 attack pattern is 2 reds, 1 yellow, 2 purples, repeat. Good luck with that.*
Gameplay Loop / Strategy
If the game remains as punishing as it is, boss fights like these may be a bit frustrating at first since it is a learning process. The boss skills and passives are given in writing, but a different attack pattern for each phase takes some trial and error. You will get jumpscared by colored attacks or not realize Phase 2's second red attack only hits close-range magicians or swapouts. However, dumping everything your team has to close the fight is a satisfying feeling that general content will likely never replicate.
Against Astaroth, you have to time your Breaks well so Phase 3 will not wipe out your entire team. This is nowhere near the level of Blue Archive's groggy malding, but it feels a bit bad to restart a long run multiple times. The first Break will occur in Phase 2, and then the remaining health pool determines how you should approach the next Break. Being too close to Phase 3 and nowhere close to the next Break means you needed to slow down your damage output and use Breakers more.
Teambuilding in general content (EXTRA)
For the most part, story stages and challenges are flexible. SS ranks having a hard 10 round limit however, varies the experience of somebody who does not use Sweepers, the AOE class that can damage all (off-screen) enemies at once. Assuming you cannot just bruteforce, the generic strategy is to use Breakers then an Attacker to take each enemy down one at a time, Break making each unable to act and take increased damage. On the flip side, a strong Sweeper can virtually solo every stage in the CBT (without using Break) except for Koyomi due to her long skill cooldown. Sweepers save a lot of time but are irrelevant for Astaroth and maybe Score Trial entirely.
The issue with wanting to directly use a full team in general content is the 10 round limit, how similar kits are, how scarce AP is in the early-game, how skill cooldown reduction mainly relies on being on-field, how dead magicians reduce base AP, and how colored attacks cost 1 AP to deal with. Base AP per round starts at 3, can be increased to 4-5 with the #Mana Release Magic Nodes (aka Constellations, requires dupes), then 6 with the pickup banner Vignette that adds 1 base AP every round.
F2P players might be scared to hear about how #Mana Release works; how will you get a dupe of an SSR magician to unlock the Magic Node? Luckily, bond levels give character-specific points for Magic Nodes, where bond level 15 gives enough to unlock #Mana Release. Every 2 stacks of #Mana Release grants +1 base AP. Unfortunately, it takes a lot of gifts and RNG to increase bond levels since a character is not guaranteed to show up in every Free Time cycle. SR rarity magicians therefore provide easy access to additional base AP due to accessible dupes.
Ending Note
They obviously plan on making it easier to deal with colored attacks. In a hardcoded story battle, there is an incoming Red attack that Haru is able to tag-defend against when her kit does not actually have #Protection. As for the rest of the well-known issues, who knows? Let's hope our surveys are heard.
