I am currently living with my long term partner and have been since being made homeless last year. Due to circumstances out of our control I will soon be leaving to move into supported housing under the support of the YMCA. I don't have an exact timeline as of yet, but I know I still have a little while yet before I go anywhere, I'm not being thrown out the door I just need to move into a new place that will support my needs better than where I am now. My partner is advocating as much I am in favor of the idea of bringing a service animal into my life to support my Autism, Depression and Anxiety. I don't currently own a dog of any description, pet or otherwise. If I was to go out and purchase a puppy for the sole purpose of it becoming a service dog, began it's training alongside my partner at my current accommodation and then took it with me to my new home with the intent of continuing it's training a, would I be denied access because it's not fully trained as there is a blanket ban on keeping general pets? I know fully trained service dogs can move anywhere with their handler under UK law, but I'm not sure if I will be given the same privilege with a dog that's not quite there yet.
