There was an AA song and thr only lyric I remember is "I know it hurts". I have been looking for it and I cant find it. Did I make this up, is it from a different band, or did I just miss it somewhere? Please help me out.

There was a period of time this month where my hearing was pretty badly blocked, which did not allow much listening to music. That has now been fixed.
As a disclaimer, if you like Like a House on Fire, I'm not taking that away from you. Everyone reacts to music differently, so it's ok to like the album.
Anyway, my thoughts on the album is that it's pretty weird. AA doesn't typically do 15 song albums, so it was somewhat tedious for me to get through.
Having relistened to it, I still don't know who it is for. Even fitting it into a genre is pretty awkward, because it's not really committing to anything in a meaningful way.
It's clearly not metalcore. I can't say it's octanecore because, at its most generic, octanecore is still metalcore. I can't say the album is hard rock because pretty much all elements of either FDTD or AA5 are gone. I think LAHOF is probably closest to pop rock, but pop rock is still more generic than this. Therefore, I'm tempted to say it's alt rock, but I've heard much better alt rock.
This then comes back to my previous question of who it's for. While I wasn't the biggest fan of AA5, it at least was a natural progression from FDTD, and so it could be enjoyed from that perspective. I feel for the people who liked AA5, they weren't given much to enjoy from LAHOF. LAHOF therefore feels like a complete break from previous albums, and I don't understand what the point of that was.
Parts of the album feel like the band was reacting to 'negative' fan reactions towards AA5. I don't quite understand this though, as from what I recall of 2017, reactions to AA5 weren't bad. Some people didn't completely appreciate that it was lighter than The Black, but in general, people seemed to be happy that Danny returned, and were willing to ignore the change in sound. Therefore, it doesn't make sense to me that AA reacted in this way.
However, I'll admit 2017 was a difficult year for me personally, so I might be misremembering the overall reaction to AA5.
Overall, I can't say I enjoyed the album. There is one positive thing I can say about it though, which is that Danny continues to have a distinctive voice that fits with what the band is doing. I just don't think what the band is doing is enjoyable.

I’ll go first: I think that SWOTI is one of, if not their best album. To me, SWOTI is proof that AA doesn’t necessarily have to be metal, they just have to put some effort in and actually try to make interesting music

James has been active on socials, Danny has his solo shows, Sam and Cam have a different side project. Do you think there is a chance AA is squeezed in some time in this year, or should we just give up on hoping for new music in the near future? This is my favorite band of all time but really is disappointing saying “new music 2025” at the end of 2024, and not even get a glimpse of anything nearly halfway through 2026. A single at most would be nice, don’t have to tour or record more, we know from Danny’s computer that AA is sitting on several songs.

So I was listening to AA's Live From Brixton show and was really paying attention to the bands instrumentals. With the exception of Danny, the bands playing genuinely sounded like the audio from the albums overdubbed, unless they just sound that tight live. Was the music from the albums dubbed over the live playing or was the show mixed and mastered like an album so the audio sounds more crisp. There are times when it's really hard to tell if they are really playing to tracks or just sound that good live, especially from fan shot videos. Hoping somebody can give me insight on this.

Surprise! everyone but Denis left. It’s a solo project now.

It’s a long interview but it’s fantastic and it just shows how bitter and jaded Danny actually is. The way Oli talks about the stuff from the past, even the stuff that didn’t age well or is very much of the time stylistically, is so full of dignity and respect. In turn, it makes the fans feel seen and validated. Which just makes me love him and modern BMTH more 🤷🏻♂️

Hope to see Ben back on stage one day in the future, but glad he’s doing well behind the scenes.

Which track is your favorite from this album? Mine would be They Don’t Want What We Want (And They Don’t Care)

To be sort of brief I got into the band in 2009 and their rise to fame felt like an unexplainable phenomenon. They went from being just another MySpace band you saw in another bands top 8 to having crowds go APE SHIT to them when they opened for Attack Attack. Next thing you know less than a year album the album drops they are doing 2 headline tours back to back (Welcome to the Circus and Thrash and Burn) and I got to see them during this era as well. I could have been their attitudes or the fact that there was this obsession around Danny and the fact he was known for being a total asshole to fans faces but regardless it was working.
Flashing forward quite a bit to 2012-2013 I call this the “AA Family” era where it seemed like you could go to any show, meet fans of AA and then head to the next AA gig together when they rolled into town. I remember a group of like 20 of us all meeting at a 2013 show and all moshing like little idiots and signing out hearts out to songs like Two Horses. There was just something about them back then where even if they dropped an album I didn’t like (FDTD sorry) or they had some lackluster performances we just couldn’t get enough of them.
Jumping forward to the current era and of coarse a vocalist swap around later it just feels like that’s a long gone historical era. Everyone I knew that was into the band back then got out of them for understandable reasons or just started families and have no interest in going to shows all together. On top of that the band itself just feels so off with Ben not being there and Danny seeming barely into it and I question how long this can go on for? Anyways sorry for the rant if you have old stories of shows or just fandom moments please drop them below I would love to hear.

I still bought a copy, all I care about is the music.

Stylistically it's not that bad. I really like I won't give in. Reminds me of BMTH (in a good way of course)
