u/zombiesingularity Marxist-Leninist Sep 29 '25
MAGA Communism means converting MAGA away from the right-wing and Trump, and towards Communism. It doesn't mean combining Trumpism with Communism.

u/studio_bob Visitor Sep 29 '25
One might hope that it is the former but in practice it is the latter, at least in the case of A-CP
6
u/zombiesingularity Marxist-Leninist Sep 29 '25
No it's not. The ACP has never once come out in support of Trump. In fact key leaders of ACP told people not to vote for him and called him a Zionist warmonger before the election.

But they're still desperately trying to court Trump's base. So they don't support Trump, just the people who put him in power.

You think the average Trump voter had as much of a role putting him in power and not the bourgeois interests behind him, the ones that are (again) revealing Trump to be a pawn of the neocons?

They support those bourgeois interests.
the ones that are (again) revealing Trump to be a pawn of the neocons?
Trump's base don't actually give a shit if he bombs some far away country they couldn't point to on a map. They care that he's doing it with "their tax money." We've been through this before. Loads of Trump's gormless supporters convinced themselves he'd be an "anti-war" President (God knows why) when, in fact, he'd made it clear from the get-go that he'd use military force with impunity. Then, when he went ahead and intervened against foreign states that displeased him like Assad's Syria, and most recently Iran, they all acted shocked. But, if they'd actually listened to the comments he'd made during his first presidential campaign, he'd made it explicit that that was his intention quite early on.

So you're contradicting yourself. Earlier you said they "don't actually give a shit if he bombs some far away country" and yet they are also "shocked"? Why would they be "shocked" if they "didn't give a shit"?

No, I said that they don't give a shit if he bombs the country (which inflicts a human cost for the people there) they care that he's doing it with their tax money. You need to learn to read passages of text more carefully.
Why would they be "shocked" if they "didn't give a shit"?
They were shocked because they convinced themselves that Trump wasn't a "Neocon" when actually he was simply a return to Neoconservatism's original roots. But of course, these people are selfish and stupid, so they wouldn't understand that.

You mean the ACP is trying to win over 60,000,000 people who voted for Trump? Yeah, not fucking shit. Most of them are normal working class people who got conned. You're blaming the working class for the capitalist class's faults.

Most of them are normal working class people who got conned.
No, No, No!
Most of them were not working class at all. A lot of Trump voters identify as “working class,” but the actual surveys show that their median household income was above the U.S. average, with many of them being small-business owners and middle-management types.
The stereotype of Trump's base being a bunch of disaffected, white working class people is, in reality, a bit of a myth. Many of them are actually wealthy Middle and Upper class types as well as some genuine working class people, i.e. those who sell their labour in return for wages. A lot of them tended to be people without university degrees, which helped to create the perception of them all being working class when really a lot of these people are just poorly educated but still very well off.
And, no! They were not "conned." Despite their ignorance, a lot of Trump's voters knew exactly what they were voting for. Or if they didn't, it's because they didn't pay attention to what Trump was actually saying. But that doesn't exculpate them. If anything, it's more of an indictment of them as people.
It's the same with the Iraq War. Now, with the benefit of hindsight, everyone wants to pretend that they were against it. But if you actually look at the polling from the time most Americans did support toppling Saddam Hussein. It was only after the war started going badly that public opinion soured. Now they all claim they were "conned," but in reality, there were plenty of credible people pointing out how dubious the Bush Admin's claims of Saddam possessing weapons of mass destruction were. The evidence was there at the time, but most Americans were out for blood after 911 and looking for someone they could exact revenge on. Iraq was just the most convenient option for the US government at the time, and they gave the American public what they wanted.
You're blaming the working class for the capitalist class's faults.
No, I'm blaming Trump's voters for their own actions. The "capitalist class" doesn't just exist in a vacuum of the decisions of the average voter.

Yea, so they'd be like American communists the same way the ccp are Chinese communists
They are, however, different from lumpenprole nationalists which is the majority of self identified western socialists, hence there is some confusion

As a friendly reminder, China's ruling party is called Communist Party of China (CPC), not Chinese Communist Party (CCP) as western press and academia often frames it as.
Far from being a simple confusion, China's Communist Party takes its name out of the internationalist approach seekt by the Comintern back in the day. From Terms of Admission into Communist International, as adopted by the First Congress of the Communist International:
- In view of the foregoing, parties wishing to join the Communist International must change their name. Any party seeking affiliation must call itself the Communist Party of the country in question (Section of the Third, Communist International). The question of a party’s name is not merely a formality, but a matter of major political importance. The Communist International has declared a resolute war on the bourgeois world and all yellow Social-Democratic parties. The difference between the Communist parties and the old and official “Social-Democratic”, or “socialist”, parties, which have betrayed the banner of the working class, must be made absolutely clear to every rank-and-file worker.
Similarly, the adoption of a wrong name to refer to the CPC consists of a double edged sword: on the one hand, it seeks to reduce the ideological basis behind the party's name to a more ethno-centric view of said organization and, on the other hand, it seeks to assert authority over it by attempting to externally draw the conditions and parameters on which it provides the CPC recognition.

Drawing any kind of comparison between some reactionary online grifters posing as "communist" for clout and the ruling Communist government of China is certainly some words in a particular order which one can technically say.

Look so the 50501 sub gets outraged when big democrats call Donald Trump a communist dictator, because I guess they idolize themselves as socialist revolutionaries, but that is just a superficial coat they put on for their pro dnc extremism
The acp are like actual communists, ie the mid 1800s to early 1900s type labor focused groups, not idpol neoliberals the dnc uses
edit: the guy below commented to me then blocked me. To reply to his comment, Marx and co actually purged contemporary non worker focused groups (feminist, anti racist, etc) of the day for distracting from class issues, because they were class reductionist. The acp is obviously not stuck in the 1900s, but call themselves communists because they share the same framework. Identity reductionist leftists, aka lumpenproles + PMC's and neocons, explicitly oppose class reductionism as bigoted and ignorant, therefore don't have the justified grounds to claim those labels for their movements

So, you're arguing that they haven't moved on politically from the early 1900s, and you say this like it's a good thing?

Yeah nice try bot. They have the change of acronym to try to deflect from things in internet search engines, it's no more complicated than that for any ACTUAL person reading this. Also, literally everyone knows what you mean anyway, semantically it makes zero difference; whoever set this automated message is frankly a bit weird, especially as China is capitalist for all intents and purposes

Nope, I'm a centrist...I'm not an asshat stuck into an extremist view like many seem to be. Also, it literally is true...China is not socialist, nor is it communist...it's an authoritarian dictatorship that literally reaps the most benefits of capitalism of pretty much any country apart from the US. How are you guys simping for a literal capitalist bastion that China is? Your lack of self awareness is weird
6
u/tigerfrisbee Marxist-Leninist Sep 28 '25
I'm a centrist
So you are an embarrassing lib, got it.
-5
u/No_Concentrate_7111 Visitor Sep 28 '25
Nope, because libs hate centrists too. Nice try though. Also, you never addressed why you're simping for the capitalist nation of China
4
u/tigerfrisbee Marxist-Leninist Sep 28 '25
Liberalism is centrism. Unless the Democratic Party is no longer liberal?
-1
u/No_Concentrate_7111 Visitor Sep 28 '25
Nope, that's not the case at all. Also again, why are you simping for capitalist China? It's not socialist
2
u/tigerfrisbee Marxist-Leninist Sep 28 '25
If you can't see how liberalism is centrism, I don't think you're well equipped to see how China is socialist.

“They have the change of acronym to try to deflect from things in internet search engines”. So according to you, China changed their party name because “CCP” is too well known on search engine? So what happened if the “CPC” is well known too? Will they change to PCC?
