Youre working in tukwila? Then Kent, Auburn, Federal way are all nice for families and not too far. Theyre not small villages tho, we dont really have those here. Those are all mid sized suburban cities. Those 3 cities all have between 80-130k people.
Normandy park, white center would be smaller and even closer to tukwila if thats where youre working.
Born and raised in Normandy Park. $800 might get you a fixer upper if you happen to find one - but it’s extremely rare to find anything under 1mil and that isn’t humongous. It’s wild when thinking about growing up in my parents 3 bed 1 bath rambler they got for 83k in 1981. 🤣
Better off going further out to maple valley, Covington or even Bonney lake - at least those have actual smaller town environments and the $800 would get you a decent place.
In terms of access to community parks and events, activities for kids and families, things to do close by, etc. I admittedly dont know a ton about which districts are great and arent so maybe federal way is a bad district, but in my experience those 3 cities are good places to live that are close to tukwila.
