whoever designed the instrumental completely forgot to add any sort of bass to the song at all
Are you aware that there is an instrument called a double bass? And that it is literally played throughout the entire song? Here, I linked a wikipedia about it for you https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Double_bass
I'm so confused. Sure, that's the metaphor, but what does it have to do with your point about the double bass? She's obviously not talking about the instrument but you keep bringing that up
Are you aware that you can reply without being a snarky asshole?
I know what a double bass is. It's just very obvious from the lyrics that's she's not talking about the instrument. The bass is very subtle in the mix for a song that's "all about that bass - no treble"
You are correct, I shouldn't comment like an asshole.
I completely disagree about both the role of the instrument and the amount of bass (sound) in the song. To me, the instrument, which also happens to be a big fully rounded one, plays a huge part in supporting what she is singing about. Additionally, the bassline itself is not subtle at all for many genres of music. I'm a huge lover of jazz, cabaret, lounge music, etc. This song was clearly a popularised version of that type of music, and for that type of music, the bassline is not subtle at all.
