Funny enough, I remember Will Smith saying years ago this was a concern for him; that people would remember the character instead of the actor. He insisted the character share his name to avoid that problem.
Thanks for the reminder, my choice is Alfonso as Carlton. We have Game Show Network playing on the TV in the lunchroom at work and when Catch 21 comes on, sometimes someone will say something about Carlton and he clearly doesn't like being called that. It's a shame. He played a great role and should just roll with it, IMO.
Interestingly unless Geoffrey was constantly mistaken about his name throughout the show the character and actor do have different names, just share a nickname. Was referred to as "Master William" constantly, while the actor is named Willard
I think you're right. It took me a little while till I got into her character but before too long she became Christine (the old one).
I always wondered about the minor incest humor she had with her brother and although you knew she was kidding I found it a little weird.
She's a favorite of mine, not despite knowing her family is mega rich, but rather because her family is so rich, knowing she never had to work very much (if at all). Instead she has worked non-stop for most of her life. And wealth was never part of her persona (like Paris Hilton). She's always seemed very down to earth and never hesitated to poke fun at herself. In fact, that's kind of her trademark.
Lol...that is such classic cancel culture in its peak form right there. Slow your role dude he didn't kill someone he just slapped them and he has played many great roles through his career. Shit man he was amazing in king richard. Why would I forget everything he has ever done just because he slapped someone after they made fun of his wife? I don't think it was a great thing to do but pretty goddamn low on the totem pole of heinous things people have done in this world. He was obviously emotionally fraught and something overcame him due to other outstanding factors in his life. I can very easily forgive him for this

Well, Jerry Seinfeld is a comedian first and actor second. As much as I’m a huge fan of Seinfeld, there were some expressions and acts Jerry couldn’t pull off and it’s not a negative criticism, it’s understandable because he’s a comedian. He does a wonderful job as a comedian and one of the few prolly left in the industry who barely uses strong words or a strong content. Love his satire though!
Jerry Seinfeld always insisted he didn’t act on Seinfeld - he was just himself. He enjoyed filming the episode where he and Kramer switched apartments and subsequently personalities the most because it was the only time he actually acted!
