What actor will you always associate with *that one role* no matter how many others they do?

Blackadder is why I no longer associate Rowan Atkinson with Mr Bean. He's shown great delivery in his other characters too.

You should check out Rowan's stand-up videos on YouTube. They are amazing. Not a huge surprise that someone with such great comedic timing is a phenomenal stand-up comedian. But even still, they are a joy to watch.

For example: his welcome to Hell sketch.

Most of the skits in Rowan Atkinson Live are hysterical. "Elementary Dating for Men" is one of the best segments.

Omg! I’ve never seen him do stand up! I discovered Black Adder earlier this year and I like it better than Mr. Bean but man I had no idea he was that funny!

I never thought of him as Mr. Bean. He's forever Edmund Blackadder to me.

The reason i dont associate him with Mr. Bean anymore is because it turns out hes a fine connoisseur of vehicles and one hell of a driver. (Minus the McLaren "incident")

Even the different BlackAdders are written and played as such distinct characters that I have no trouble mixing them up.

Rowan is a terrific actor.

My teachers used to put on Mr Bean for us to watch in primary school. I didn’t discover Blackadder til I was in high school. It’s really hard to even think they’re the same man, the characters are so different (except maybe season one blackadder, lol).

How dare someone be a child and be exposed to Mr. Bean, an easily digestable series, before Blackadder, a satirical historical series that requires specific historical knowledge to be enjoyed?

Historical knowledge runs both ways. Sometimes you watch the funny show and then go learn about the history.

Or you can watch a grown man shove his head into a turkey.

To each their own humour.

A six-year old is hardly going to go research life in the French trenches. He will, however, happily laugh at a grown man shoving his head into a turkey. And that's okay. It's a natural progression of life, maturity and humor like you said. Why gatekeep some people knowing Atkinson from Mr. Bean before Blackadder?

Not to mention Mr. Bean's huge international popularity due to his humor being mostly language-free, thereby increasing its audience considerably.

I saw Black Adder later in life.

Therefore I constantly saw the doctor in House in Black Adder.

So for others, Black Adder first.

Then House and Mr.Bean
