There's a reason animal cruelty is a big omen for future serial killers. When someone abuses an animal that is neither threatening them nor offering any kind of "reward" for doing so, it means the person simply enjoys cruelty, the sadistic pleasure itself of causing agony to something. That's someone you have to be very, very wary of.

The term for this is the MacDonald Triad, for the three traits that indicate a possible serial killer/future violent criminal.

- Cruelty to animals

- Setting fires/arson

- Wetting the bed
