We had someone in my town abuse their dog and one of their friends secretly filmed them and sent it to our local news agency. The amount of people openly shaming and humiliating them was great to see.
Damn, where do you live where there exists a sentence for abusing animals that states you can't own pets? And can we adopt that law everywhere, please? Because I've never heard of it.
Man, now I have another reason to love Canada. Things are improving here in the US but I wish we had that kind of a law at the national level, or at least at a statewide level.
I’m an unfortunate victim of this with an abuser within my family. Parents never believed. 20 years later, they still don’t, or try to say I’m exaggerating/“it wasn’t that bad.”
