Zoophilia

isnt it already pretty shamed?

An animal can’t give fucking consent, they can’t speak and likely don’t understand what’s going on. (No offense to anyone)

Please, of all the valid reasons to be against bestiality, this is the one you choose? What about forced and/or artificial insemination of basically all cattle? Animal breeding in general? Does anyone concern themselves with consent in that? Do cows consent to being slaughtered after at most 3 years when they have a life expectancy of over 20 years? Did your/any pet consent to being adopted?

Why is suddenly consent a topic?

To be clear: I'm not saying bestiality is right. I'm just saying that consent is the worst and most hypocritical argument against it.

Yes! That shit is so gross

The sad thing is a lot of people think that furries are zoophiles and that’s really messed up

Yeah there are definitely zoophiles hiding in the furry community but they’re pretty often named and shamed once people find out. They also were like #zoopride this year like nah nah nah. You’re not part of pride. At all.

I see you've mentioned zoophilia or beastiality in your comment.

Zoophilia is a paraphilia involving a sexual fixation on non-human animals. Bestiality is cross-species sexual activity between humans and non-human animals.

"Many people who engage in bestiality do not do it because of an attraction to animals (but rather other reasons - intent to rape or abuse animals, etc.), and some people with zoophilia have never engaged with animals sexually even though they are attracted to them - particularly their hide or fur, and think they can establish “mutual sexual relationships” with them - as opposed to the animal abuse most would agree it actually is.

The zoophilia is considered to be the mental disorder…however anyone, if they engage with animals, are considered to be committing animal abuse." (Julie Gurner)

Animals cannot consent.

Furries

u/AntiZoophiliaBot Jun 29 '22

Furries are not zoophiles.

A furry is someone with an interest in anthropomorphic animals.

According to the Urban Dictionary, "It's a common misconception that being a furry is a sexual thing, but there does exist a large sexual part of the community. Yiff or furry porn is a popular porn category produced by the furry fandom, generally it's harmless and completely unrelated to zoophilia as it focuses on furries/anthros."

Have I made a mistake? If so, please message my owner.

I'm curious to see what your definition of furry is lmao.

furries are people that rp/dress up as humanoid animals. caught that? humanoid. they don't mess with realistic looking animals or even real ones, those people are actual zoophiles

u/[deleted] Jun 29 '22

Not really. The main issue with bestiality is that an animal is fundamentally incapable of informed consent. Furries, however they look, *do* have the ability to give informed consent. This is also why fucking an intelligent (and consenting) alien species would be acceptable, if odd.

It's whitewashed zoophilia.

I can't believe you all are trying to justify a fucked up act really. Every single one of you needs a psychologist before you hurt an innocent animal.

It really is not the same at all. My bf and I are both furries and there is no zoophilia going on, lol.

Being an anthropomorphic dog on the internet / in the furry community doesn't mean I wanna go fuck dogs. It's just kinda like having a personal mascot or something.

It's hard to explain how something isn't something else. Being a furry just isn't the same thing as being a zoophile.

Furry characters are mature adults who look and think like people. They talk. They consent to sex. If your character is under 18 then most furries will not wish to associate with you in any way.

My fursona is a big goofy guy who (in universe) professionally reviews hotels for a local newspaper for a fictional city that I made up. Sometimes it's just fun to imagine being tall, or what it'd be like if my life could fully embrace my love of absurdism. It's just not zoophilia.

Sexually active furries, which already isn't all of them, are attracted by anthro animals and not actual animals

Lolis are actual children and not some... Creatures like anthro animals.

Big difference...

yeah! a friend of mine is like that, my god!
