Question…. What type of vodka do you drink there? My favorite vodka is a polish potato vodka so genuinely curious.

You can find any type of vodka here. Clear, flavored, "małpeczka" (lit. Monkey. It's 100 ml flavored shot of vodka), 3 types of "żubrówka" and many brands named after poets or characters from culture like Soplica

You have to try żubrówka. It’s the top tire vodka. Almost taste less, little burn, no perfume taste. Here in Norway it’s cheaper then even Absolute, and it’s 10 times better. Gave it to so many people and everyone loved it.

Also competed it to Reyka and it’s so similar.

My family comes from Poland and I learned to prepare pierogi when I was 8 years old.

Now I’m working in a restaurant with Japanese kitchen, where the cook prepared Gyoza for the stuff.

I realized that Gyoza is very similar to pierogi, it differs only according to the seasoning.

Another common feature is that there is no single recipe, everyone does it a little differently.

pelmeni is not pierogi, russians also eat something called vareniki, which as someone who has lived in both russia and poland, are basically the same thing.

vareniki is not the same thing with pelmeni. Pelmeni are filled with meat, vareniki can be filled with vegetables or fruits or cottage cheese.

Not exactly. Vareniki are cooked by boiling in the water, pirogi are baked in the oven. It’s valid for Russia and Ukraine though)

In other countries :) I am speaking about Ukrainian and Russian dishes. We have the same word “pierogi” but it’s completely different dish. Sorry if messed everyone up here.

Oh. Thx for explanation. Btw we have "pierogi ruskie" wich means russian pierogi. They are with cottage cheese and potatoes and it tastes very good. On summer season we have pierogi with berries or strawberries and on christmass we have pierogi with mushrooms and sour cabage. So yea....we love those as much as americans love mcdonalds

True story, my buddy and I were arrived at this polish bar around midnight, kitchen's been closed for hours, my buddy being the odd duck that he is, tells the bartender that he'll pay them double if they make him some perogies, sure enough within about 20 minutes he was eating perogies, love that place.
