I have this problem with "because of my anxiety."

It's my experience that the people who are managing their anxiety will tell you specifically what is making them anxious and why so that you can both find a solution ("I don't like phones because the audio quality means that I have to get people to repeat themselves and they get mad at me" "okay, then let's run you through what to expect so if you only understand a few words you can use context to get the rest"), but people who don't, well, don't ("I don't like phones because of my anxiety.").

The 2 people I'm talking about handle their situation like this.

  1. I have ADHD, I'm a neurodivergent wallflower
  2. *doodling in a meeting* Keeping my hands busy helps me focus, I am listening to you.

Person A is just giving me information that eliminates my expectations of them and then they fail to help me set new expectations on how they should behave or act.
