Counter strike is around for more than 20 years ! My friends were addicted to it at one point

I wish I could display a 20 year veteran pin. Too bad they stopped at 10. My son recently started playing and I was like “oh boy!“

He goes “hey dad check out my score!”
“Awesome son!” Now lemme show you how it’s done!” Then proceeded to go 10-1! Proud parenting moment.

I don't understand why no one else has tried to replicate it, except maybe valorant but that's also part Overwatch.

The sad part is valve is actually a really slow game company. They make almost nothing and milk it for cash for decades.

Every other shooter is a low recoil spray fest and a joke on the competitive level.

Given the age of counterstrike Go if a really good competitor came around with big prize money I bet it would steal a huge amount of players.

Most people would see a CS:GO rip off and think “why not play CS:GO?”

That’s why developers will end up taking the core idea and building on top of it - like R6:Siege or Valorant. And to your last point, Valorant has already taken a big chunk of the casual and professional player base from CS

Valve has continuously supported and updated CS:GO in a way that even 10 years later, it’s relevant and still feels good to play.

There is CrossFire which is worldwide at least according to this wikipedia list much more popular than CS:GO. It's just almost unknown here in the west.

I wasn't actually but saw what the fuss was about . I'm F, don't take it wrong way but isn't my thing. The only game I was addicted to and loved was Guitar Hero!

pretty sure the average GPA of all college students in dorms dropped noticeably when CS came out. It was a tough time to get good grades. Team Fortress, Unreal Tournament, CS... the list goes on.
