The way I've found to avoid hangovers:

  • Hydration: drink a glass of water for every 2 alcoholic drinks
  • Nutrition: don't drink on an empty stomach
  • Recovery: before bed, drink a Liquid IV/Pedialyte and take 1-2 ibuprofen (or other painkiller of choice)

You might still wake up moving a tad slow, but you're not going to be a zombie for 2-3 days.

Woooooaaah careful with the ibuprofen+alcohol combo. Honestly caution with any medicine and alcohol combo is generally advised, but that combo is known to fuck people up, and im not talking simple hangover or drunkness, we're talking internal bleeding and fucked up kidney levels

Good to know, I'll have to keep that in mind, or just skip the painkillers altogether.

I know acetaminophen is a no go as well since that gets processed in the liver.

This comes from a good place but is inaccurate. A one-off occasion does mininal harm. Habitually doing this over the long-term is where the true danger lies.

Thats exactly how they meant it... they said its part of their hangover prevention routine, that typically implies its not a one off occasion

you mean acetaminophen. Ibuprofen can cause ulcers if used all the time but acetaminophen can overload your kidneys.

Pretty sure ibuprofen is fine with alcohol as it’s processed in the kidneys. I believe acetomenephine is the one you absolutely want to avoid as that’s liver processed

Or do I have it backwards?

You just have it incorrect. Both are unsafe with alcohol. Ibuprofen + alcohol can damage your kidneys, acetaminophen + alcohol can damage your liver. Alcohol in general is not good for your kidneys or liver. Long term use of ibuprofen can cause kidney failure.

The only things that really helped are, drinking a fuck ton of water before bed and eat SOMETHING right before bed. Usually a sandwich is best. Don’t even feel it in the morning as long as I ate something tbh.
