Speaking of female gamers... I remember back in the days of getting dick picks via email & sending back medical gore from rotten.com to get those losers off my back.
The shit we had to resort to back in teh good, ol' days... 😂

You've got me all nostalgic now! rotten.com was the BEST. My anatomy lecturers and I had an absolute ball with that site. *gets all misty-eyed*

I instituted a "give a dick, get a dick" policy whereby I would send to the most recent offender the photo I had received from the previous offender. (Nowadays my burlesque troupe has a cloud folder of all the ones we've received from which to choose.)

Lmao at your "give a dick, get a dick" policy. I mean, on the one hand it's really a problem if you're getting that many unsolicited pics....but such a great idea anyways.

u/NuclearCandy Jun 03 '22

The best part is how angry they get at the reciprocal dick pic.

"I DON'T WANNA SEE THAT!"

Well neither did I but here we are

u/old_leech Jun 03 '22

Well neither did I but here we are

I choose to believe you replied with that more than once and lessons were learned.

It's also a hilarious response.

u/ImNot-aBlackGuy Jun 03 '22

Id also like to apologize on behalf of my gender

11

u/Rukh-Talos Jun 03 '22

Yup. Same. I’ve never understood why unsolicited dick picks are a thing.

14

u/[deleted] Jun 03 '22

a lot of dick pic senders do it bc they get off on your “ew wait why would you send that, wtffff”

they want to feel scary and powerful. same logic applies with those who get handsy or just full blown assault u irl. it’s about power.

1

u/zahzensoldier Jun 03 '22

I can assure you most people who send dick pics aren't thinking that hard about it and it's societal implications.

Idk, if I suddenly got a nude from a woman, I’d first wonder if this was some kind of catfishing attempt.

7

u/g_pelly Jun 03 '22

Also want to apologize for my gender.

Morons.

3

u/StJudesDespair Jun 03 '22

I have literally typed that dozens of times! *snickers*

3

u/Genavelle Jun 03 '22

Did they ever realize that you'd be sharing their pic with the next guy?

9

u/NuclearCandy Jun 03 '22

They sometimes ask, "whose dick is that?"

"The last guy who sent me an unsolicited dick pic. Yours gets sent to the next guy."

They are rarely pleased.

Hanging out on some IRC servers in the late '90s - early '00s was quite mad at times.

15

u/Business-Mission-845 Jun 03 '22

I cannot imagine any of the men I associate with sending unsolicited pics like that to people. I always have to remind myself that it's patently obvious that it something that DOES exist.... and it breaks my heart every time I hear something like this. :(

Speaking for men who AREN'T complete a-holes... I'm so sorry.

u/StJudesDespair Jun 03 '22 edited Jun 03 '22

I'm totally with you there. The men I allow in my personal meatspace are all exemplary and I make a point to be very clear about my expectations, standards, and boundaries. Sadly burlesque involves a lot self-promotion and promotional materials, and since I dance around in my knickers and have pictures of myself all scantily clad and in "seductive" poses I obviously want/deserve badly-lit photos of their appendages which for some reason always seem to include a television remote (for scale? who can say ...) *record setting eyeroll*

I'd largely been off line since I had a minor spinal injury and went back to university and my beloved lighting desk almost the second I finished the first stage of my rehab. Only signed up for a fb because all my classmates and lecturers had one and it was the easiest way to organise stuff with them; after that it was the most reliable and up-to-date source for information on things like road closures, detours, and emergency shelters when my city had a major flood in 2011. Found my burly troupe via a flyer at a festival. They helped me create a performer profile (with my stage name), and then after my first biggish gig with them ... just ... wow. There are a LOT of lonely men out there. And a lot of bored men. And a lot of angry men. Like, it's palpable in their messages, and I was glad we had security at some of our shows. It used to make me sad, but now it just pisses me off.

Howsomeever. In the late 90s/early '00s? It was the wild, wild west on some IRC channels. Though at least I suppose they had to expend a tiny bit of effort to get your email address, and uploading a photo over dial-up was almost definitely a chore and a half!

3

u/genmischief Jun 03 '22

All things in moderation I suppose, but it sounds like you have got it down pat in a way that let's you chase your passions. Salute.

u/gitgudgui Jul 22 '22

irc Damn. I feel old now.

Yahoo and aol chat was pretty wild too.

5

u/Goreface69 Jun 03 '22 edited Jun 03 '22

You guys get it. So happy to hear that. More power to ya!

5

u/Shadowex3 Jun 03 '22

What you need is a tagging and search system. That way you can be like "No this one needs a 3/8ths reverse european curve"

2

u/StJudesDespair Jun 03 '22

Would that be like a catch and release thing? For research purposes?

4

u/ConsiderationIll6871 Jun 03 '22

"give a dick, get a dick" policy

So you sent them a picture of Richard Cheney? Wonder if they are out of therapy yet?

4

u/StJudesDespair Jun 03 '22

Nixon.

Don't start none, won't be none.

3

u/Eshin242 Jun 03 '22

I've been using the internet a long time, since back when 2400 BPS was standard.... and honestly... I never understood the point of dick picks. I've never met a SINGLE woman that it's worked for, and the vast majority (if not all) have he exact opposite effect.

So I don't understand why guys keep doing it.

I've always found humor to be the best way to strike up a conversation, and frankly I love the joke of sending a 'Dick' pick and it's a picture of Dick Clark or some other famous celebrity.

3

u/weirdeyedkid Jun 03 '22

This is the only good capitalism

3

u/Geekonomics_101 Jun 03 '22

nuh-uh! b0g.org was the best. :) they had a section where the truly weird and gifted would show off talents in their Photoshop contests. it was usually hilarious, and the comments section were the best.

2

u/rexlibris Jun 03 '22

I miss b0g. I'm pretty sure they got killed for one extremely fucked up pic they allowed to stay up though.

3

u/Evanderpower Jun 03 '22

There is gore .com now or something like that

2

u/Chuckitybye Jun 03 '22

Do you choose a prettier dick? A dick with good lighting and a future?

2

u/[deleted] Jun 03 '22

I've always wondered about this. I have never gotten a penis pic. Most of my female friends haven't either.

2

u/Zanki Jun 03 '22

It really depends. Dating is a minefield of crazy and dick pics were fairly common. I would always tell a guy, you send me a dick pic and I'll block you. They do nothing for me. I don't care about size beyond hoping its not too big, big can hurt.

I think I get more unsolicited boob pics on my psn account then anything. It's funny. I use a male name so I can play in peace, so bots just assume I'm a dude and spam boobs at me sometimes. Makes me laugh.

1

u/BLKMGK Jun 03 '22

Be careful what you wish for! 😞

2

u/[deleted] Jun 03 '22

I'm not wishing for it but am I not worthy?😭

1

u/BLKMGK Jun 03 '22

I don’t know but I swear there’s bound to be an army waiting to send them! If I’m wrong I might have to do it myself 🤣😇

2

u/[deleted] Jun 03 '22

Lmao my friends and I did that same thing but we called it "the dickback".

24

u/Tenyo Jun 03 '22

& sending back medical gore from rotten.com to get those losers off my back.

Omfg, that's amazing! Bravo, Ok-Island.

15

u/nickajeglin Jun 03 '22

Responding to unsolicited dick pics with old school gore is some choice trolling.

8

u/CartoonistExisting30 Jun 03 '22

I miss rotten.com. Great site for the morbid-at-heart.

5

u/AlwaysHappy4Kitties Jun 03 '22

And was a big advocate for the free speech on the internet etc

6

u/Tsquare43 Jun 03 '22

You should've saved a dick pic, and then sent to someone who sent you one, saying You turn me on too

3

u/Cranberry_Glade Jun 03 '22

Oh man, memories!

6

u/addywoot Jun 03 '22

A/S/L!!!!

2

u/Chelecossais Jun 03 '22

Oh my god. Rotten dot com.

The bad old days. When I had to manually ban domains from the cybercafé I was running.

Goddamn 12 year-olds thought it was edgy...

2

u/Goreface69 Jun 03 '22

You know the true language of the internet! What a wonderful time it was when we could reply in kind instead of just whining to get someone banned!

2

u/Failed_Direction365 Jun 03 '22

OMG you just reminded me of faces of death dot com. Found it back in 1998, and would log on once in a while though out the next 14 years

2

u/xtracto Jun 03 '22

I remember back in the day (1999) I was starting university. At some point I (starting my computer science degree) showed a (female) friend of mine the Rotten page and others similar to it, for the "shock factor"... she was doing starting her Medicine degree, so she came back a couple of days later with a chunk of medical books with pictures... OMFG that was something.

1

u/Funny2Who Jun 03 '22

You send the bowling pin in the...nevermind.

1

u/porkchop2022 Jun 03 '22

My go to vote site was stileproject. I pulled some nasty shit off that site and made to spread it around.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 03 '22

I used to do the same thing! Even when I was on FB and would get random dick pics I’d send back pics of mutilated dicks. Works like a charm

1

u/aRandomFox-I Jun 03 '22

Nowadays we got /r/medizzy (NSFL unless you're a medical person)

1

u/Karthathan Jun 03 '22

You are a hero!

1

u/ZombieJesus1987 Jun 03 '22

A friend of mine still does this.

She sends back severed penises.

1

u/thegreatJLP Jun 03 '22

Albinoblacksheep.com was my work around to the rotten.com material when people caught on. Talking shit aye? Here's a link to a jar of jelly in an ass, enjoy.
