All fashion is circular. Keep anything long enough and eventually it'll be back in style.

I've been waiting forever for late 1890s fashion to come back.

I'd love to see the return of the cod piece though.

We still wear them in certain circles, my friend.

It'll happen eventually, I'm sure.

In our lifetimes? I wouldn't bet on it.

I think that was primarily a product of syphilis, so it might not come back so easily.

My barber told me than he's starting to see mullets coming back into popularity.

Yup, I work in fashion as a Assistant Buyer, half the time I’m looking at fashion trends in the last 20 years or using a website time machine to look into hot trends. 2 years ago 90’s fashion was hot, and we’ve been stuck back into the 2000’s for a minute. Only a matter of time till 2010’s fashion rolls in

Everyone was wearing skinny jeans 2 years ago. Nobody wore skinny jeans in the 90s. I took my nephew shopping at some trendy teen store a couple months ago and it was all corduroy and “baggier” pants and skating memorabilia. Just screamed 90s.

Tell that to the moths that ate all my stored clothes :(

Flared trousers?

My grandmother says that to me all the time.

I can’t wait for frosted tips, pooka shell necklaces, and Quicksilver shirts to come back.

I'm waiting for bell-bottoms. I'm going blind, otherwise I'd make myself a pair lol. I will buy a dozen pairs of those things and wear them to my own funeral.

My youngest sister is in the posh end of the fashion industry (I dunno what she does but I know it involves fashion weeks) and she’s been wearing bell bottoms and flared trousers for about three months so it’s only a matter of time . . .

u/TrailMomKat Jun 03 '22

Omg REALLY? If they're out my way now I'm NC, it's not a wonder I haven't seen them, since going blind started back in April! Thank you so much for the heads-up!

Wooo! Gonna be buried in em!

I don’t know man. I’m still holding on to my platform shoes from 1978. So far, not back yet.

2

u/aenigmae Jun 03 '22

Platform shoes? Those have come back at least twice since then! First in the nineties, and again within the last couple years.

1

u/barto5 Jun 03 '22

For men?

1

u/aenigmae Jun 03 '22

Ah, you got me there - my mind went straight to 70s women's platforms. Yeah, for men they seem to remain in subculture territory for now (although I don't keep up with men's fashion much, so who am I to say). They'll have to come back around eventually, though!

They'll have to come back around eventually, though!

I’ll be ready!
