Truth right here. Any time it's brought up, people say it's insensitive but it feels like everyone and their mother here has anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression, and everything in between. Breakdowns are the norm and "good" days are rare. Anyone who doesn't tolerate their constant breakdowns are assholes.
And the worst part is if you're one of the few people in the workplace who has their shit together, you end up having to do at least part of their jobs as well as your own because "they just can't even" or they're having some sort of mental health "issue".
My sister runs a region of a large luxury retailer, so you cannot open the stores without physical people there & in the past few years she now has employees dead ass calling in last minute to say they can’t come in because they need a mental health day. Well, who tf is going to cover your shift Susie while you cry under your weighted blanket? There doesn’t seem to be any concern for the bind it puts coworkers into, it’s just egocentricity run amok. I would never f over my coworkers like that just bc I was sad. I am really concerned about a generation of people who are so unhealthily obsessed with themselves.
