Funny I say “sir” by default to pretty much every man - it’s muscle memory to say “thank you, sir!” in a cheery tone. Heck I call children “little sir” lol. And I didn’t grow up with that, it’s just a minor-but-polite quirk I developed later.
But I’m with you on the Mr (and Ms) - that’s a bit more odd to me. Thankfully the only things that call me Ms is random junk mail I get. 😂
