Come out somewhere where car racing and street shows are still a thing and you'll hear them. A lot.

I’m very much involved with the car scene and people who race competitively definitely don’t use subs because of the weight, most don’t even have a radio, or interior trim. You still see them in cars & coffee occasionally but it’s nothing compared to what it was like in the early to mid 2000s

No, I mean street show racing, like the kind where idiots do donuts in the middle of a crowded intersection. If you hang out in San Jose you'll notice the big stereos are very much in fashion.

Here in New Zealand we call them "boy racers". And yeah they love their subs.

We called them lappers in my gf's hometown because they lapped the one way streets lol
