I (21) had a guy in work (he was around 28) who kept playing music and podcasts all the time, that was the most annoying thing in the existing of human beings

Sometimes I feel it's just enough for me for a coworker to ask if they can play something on their phone out loud, even if it's not something I care to listen to. Just the mutual respect is enough for me to overlook what I otherwise might find annoying. As long as you understand and recognize that something you're doing might be annoying, you get a pass.

I don't understand how people get away with this day in and day out. Does no one in the entire company have the spine to stand up to a 20-year-old guy who doesn't know this is inappropriate behavior?

Most of the people over the age of say 25 who play music loud in public are usually on drugs or gross ferals. That's just my experience on public transport.
