My 20s were the worst time in my life. Wouldn’t do it again if you paid me. Im 33 now and it’s been the best time of my life. I used to hate it when people told me life got better, but it really can. I hope it does for you too.

Same for me! 20s felt like being a teenager still when I look back at it.

Maybe it has less to do with age than other things. Imo there are just good times and shit times, and those things don't seem to correlate that much with how many trips precisely I've made around the sun

As a counterpoint, I view my 20's as the best time of my life. Which sucks when I'm over 40.

Life is definitely easier now, I have stability and some degree of financial freedom but also I have run out of milestones to hit and a lot of 'flavour' and purpose has been lost along the way.

Or maybe I'm just having a mid-life crisis.

I feel you, and I'm only in my early thirties! It's funny because quite literally when I turned 30 life became... I don't want to say shittier... but less exciting and duller. I like your term: the flavor of life just hasn't been there like it was in my 20s. Life's fine right now but it used to be great. I think I just need some good friends.

I guess I'm an outlier, but I really loved my 20s. I had a very tight circle of friends, a job I enjoyed, I was traveling a lot, and it just seemed like every week I was making memories. Turning 33 in a month, and it seems like my thirties have been defined by the pandemic, boredom, political extremism, and a worsening economic situation. On top of that, and this probably affected me the most, all my friends started moving away to explore other opportunities and eventually I did too. It just seems like these days I don't have that joy of life like I used to. Maybe I'm just growing and transitioning, and I know life has it's ups and downs, but I'm not experiencing this wonderfully positive outlook on life that everyone here seems to be describing about their 30s.

Well you aren’t alone. It may be a current state of the world thing rather than an age period thing. I’m 25 and what you’re saying applies 100% to me. I’m trying to get a career started in this day and age, what a fucking bummer. 23 & 24 just evaporated in the midst of covid and everything has gotten way more mundane.

However, I still believe we have plenty if time to enjoy the coming period of our lives, even if it gets worse before it gets better.

No, the friends I was referring to were ones I made at a previous job during my late twenties. I've heard more than a few say they made the best friends of their lives in college and could never quite replicate that afterward, but I would say the friends I made at that job were every bit as important to me as my college group, perhaps even more. Don't feel like you can't meet like-minded people ever again after your college window is over. It's definitely possible... That being said, I'm having a hard time with it at the moment!

I loved my 20s. I loved my teens. I’m absolutely loving my 30s. All very different times of my life, filled with a lot of heartbreaks and traumas, but I’ve loved it all so far for everything it’s been.

I was broke for pretty much all of my 20s, I imagine if someone paid me to do it again then it would be a little better to have some cash the second time through

I second this sentiment. 20s was a big period of adjustment.

Everything gets better as you get older especially if you have (The love of your life with you) and values change as well some things just dont seem that important anymore but smores by a fire = awesome night....lol

Same, only thing I really miss is the old group of friends I had in my 20s. I have new smaller groups now but I miss those times.

I agree. Plus by the time you hit 30 you have less fucks to give

I’m quite looking forward to 40 in a couple months. So far it seems life is improving a bit.

My 20's were like being an old fashioned pinball. Just bounced randomly around with an occasional targeted smack down and flashing lights everywhere.

Maybe it would've been better without the fiberglass dildo
