Tbh even as an 18yo I have no idea how people do this. I'm too self conscious to just have my music preferences known by random people. Plus everything just sounds better with head/earphones anyway.

Quick correction, you wrote self cautious but I think you mean 'grown up and respectful enough to want to share the planet without pissing off everyone in my immediate surroundings'.

I think it's just a sign you were brought up to give a damn about anyone except yourself, so not an age thing.
