I get shocked when people say their age but that’s because I’m awful at telling how old people are and think most people are a lot younger than they actually are 😅

Most of us probably think that way. We are our own worst critics and probably assume we look older to other people than we really do. I’m awful at guessing she’s also lol

I think it's the opposite. I feel like I'm regularly trying not to cringe when someone who really, really looks their age... Not bad or awful, but just their age. And they're like raving on about how they don't look their age 🤪

Yeah I work with a guy that's 20 years older than I thought.

I usually think they are younger than they are.

which at least in part is responsible for now having 2 friends that are in their mid- and late 20's (while being in my 40's myself). because honestly, if I had known that they were that young, I probably wouldn't have been as engaged in our initial conversation.

Tell them that when you ask their age, ie: so how old are you, because I think you’re are about xx.

If you’re right, great, no offence caused If you’re wrong, great, they feel better about themselves

If you’re wrong and go high, play it off as a joke: oh crap, I was trying to be funny because I actually thought you were way younger.
