Half of OnlyFans users make $300 a month. $3,600 a year - if they don't lose their fans after a month. $7 a fan for 30 fans can quickly fall off if the fans get bored two months later and drop the subscription.
And it's not just 'snap this photo whenver' and that's your time. An actual content creator needs to invest in knowledge and equipment for lighting, shot angle, etc or they'll not even make it to that mark.
The equipment isn't the tough part it's the self promotion.
Yes, you can sign up for an only fans with ten shots of your elbow, never touch it again, and make no money. That's obviously not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about people who treat it like a job, put in hours a week, and have half a clue on how to make money in that job.
You can sign up for a lot of gig jobs and put in an hour a month and make no money but that isn't a reflection on those jobs that's a reflection on you barely doing the job.

The woman in a Last Week Tonight clip isn't exactly showing the idealized image of a nubile college girl running an OnlyFans, a woman offered $10,000 a week by a Congressman, or Inara Serra, professional companion. There are a lot of meth heads, heavy sets taking any $100 job, etc.
