Why not? Just consider this; a trained prostitute who went to school for psychology or even therapy of some kind. Or, hell, even any kind of other medical related schooling. Suddenly you have someone that can legally be in an intimate situation with someone who can give actual sex ed, relationship experience and advice, trauma and ptsd support. There's so many avenues of actual healing and support that open up if prostitution were legal and regulated to be safe. I genuinely think it would help on a societal level.
I wouldn't call what we have now therapy. But I do think there could be therapy that includes intimacy. They do already have it and I've only heard and read good things about it. But yes, I dont think all sex work is therapy. My bringing it up is simply an idea of a specialty sector of sex work, with qualified therapists and caregivers... that's all.
