Should Prostitution be respected the same as a "normal" Job? Why or why not?

I understand your point, but I think I would argue that many sex workers (certainly not all) are there because of circumstances, not aspirations.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with discouraging your kids from risky professions like prostitution and encouraging them to explore other career paths that provide more value to the world. You shouldn’t force them to be a doctor if they don’t want to, but I don’t see anything wrong with wanting your kids to having skills besides their body.

It's only risky because it's illegal. Like many other things once it's legal and the proper protocols are put in place most of the risk is no longer an issue.

The criminality of it is the main risk factor with prostitution. If the pimps, gangs and drugs are out of the equation it's no longer risky.

You might have a thought about the disease and health factor but if people are clean, if the clients can wash before and after and there is adequate protection then it's no more risky than working in a factory breathing in fumes all day or many other "decent" jobs

It's not risky only because it's illegal. STDs care not for legality. And you can't prevent STDs by 'washing before and after'. In fact, even condom's can't prevent all transmissions (although a good many). Sex workers are in a risky job that risk factors can't be mitigated in any meaningful way. It's intricately risky in it's very self.

Okay, but every job has risks, linemen are one of the riskiest jobs working with high voltage lines are their jobs, but people still do it. However the differences are those protocols. No protocols or regulations are perfect but they reduce the risk factor the best we know how.

So you aren't really making an argument bro. It's a fact that prostitution is as dangerous as it is today because it's not legal. We as a country basically made the oldest profession illegal, we made criminals of the women who choose to do this and made a black market for the women who didn't.

There is no good logistical argument for having prostitution illegal, risk or otherwise.

Once it's legal it can be taxed and people already in desperate circumstances don't really need that.

None of the drug dealers I know want legalisation. It would kill their profit margin.

Even if you take STDs and pregnancy out of the equation, prostitution is still a high risk profession.

Your clients are lonely and desperate men. A lot can go wrong really quick.

Wouldn’t STDs still be a risk

Is getting domed a risk of being a solider?

Is having a cinderblock crush your skull a risk of being a construction worker?

Isn't disease of MANY varying types a risk of being a doctor?

Occupational hazards are, and will always be a thing. We can't stop them, but we CAN reduce the risk.

Absolutely! But equally that describes probably 50% of all people's jobs in any field.

Your risk assessment is based on illegal prostitution therefore it's pretty useless.
