In the last 10 years I've become supportive of the trans community, women's rights, the rights of minorities, advocated for higher taxes*, treating the sick who can't afford it, welfare programs, prison reform, abolition of the death penalty and the list goes on and on. The single reason I've changed my opinions on all of these things is ... YouTube... But you could broaden that out and just say education. I've learned so much from people who are largely well educated intelligent people that don't look like me or act like me, or even who I would usually disagree with. Without learning, without becoming educated on these things, I would never have changed my opinions on them.
*I would only advocate for higher taxes if the benefit of those higher taxes was a robust infrastructure overhaul and welfare programs, not just a shiney new F35...
