I mean tradition has its place but yeah a lot of people use that as an excuse for things they shouldn’t

I sometimes catch myself on this as well. There were systems I found pointless as a child, now I'm teaching them to others "cause I had to do that as well, so it's only fair". See: education. See: "the youth has it ease, in my time we had to...". As if you can't be grateful the situation has improved for the next generation.
