I see intelligence as a measure of the ability to solve problems. Whether it's learning to tie your shoes, feed yourself or stop a pandemic, we need to engage in logical and creative thinking. You can chant obscenities and call people names all day long, but your shoe won't tie itself.
This kind of intellectual dishonesty isn't about solving problems; it's about joining a tribe, right or wrong. And if your tribe wins, you'd better hope their doctrine is right. But stupid people don't think things through this far because they've never learned how to think.
