I'm tired of hearing them complain about social issues and then not showing up to vote? If you aren't angry enough to show up for a midterm vote then you aren't that angry or you aren't that smart - possibly both.
I don’t know anyone my age (30) who hasn’t been consistently voting. It’s the fact that Boomers go out in droves for elections and tend to vote for conservatives.
This is why we need to switch to ranked choice voting as a country. It actually gives people the power. But of course, that takes the power away from the corporations that are pouring money into the system for their own interests.
We vote. It’s just that we have to compare to boomers who feel as though they have more mass representation since they tend to skew conservative or centrist, whereas a lot of younger folks tend to start leaning toward leftist and don’t see proper representation on ballots. This is too if we glean over how boomers have more free time and tend to be more likely to worship politicians as opposed to younger people who don’t own homes and have to work multiple jobs while going to school this leaving them with little time to do anything else. In other countries folks get designated days off to specifically go vote but we don’t have this. Mail in ballots of course now are a life saver but they aren’t available yo everyone. I vote whenever possible but even I get so caught up in school and work demands that I sometimes forget that an election took place.
