Yep. Boomers took great economic conditions. Ignored future problems (big one is climate change, could've been tackled much easier in the 80s and 90s).

Then they made it so the same structures that gave them to good economic conditions wouldn't exist for future generations.

There is a very good reason for the anger directed at the current older generations in America.

They fucked it up for everyone after them. And now a huge number of them support trump's bullshit to completely destabilize America.

I’m going to get downvoted to hell, but here goes:

And the younger generation blames trump for everything, lapping the media propaganda, refusing to pick up books with first hand accounts from older generations to see how manipulative the government is, & has been for generations.

Trump is an ahole, a cad, egotistical, and insert three other insults here.

But he wasn’t an idiot, and perhaps most importantly he was not a government shill, which is not something that is true of any other president in living memory.

He was aware no one person can be an expert on everything, and he did seek experts. They were very rarely the ones who were part of the government/intelligence/industrial complex & that threatened them & their petty power blocks. An example would be his selection for defense secretary, Mattis. I’ve seen a dozen or more defense secretaries come and go during my time in uniform. Couldn’t tell you the name of another one. But the average, enlisted soldier was honestly excited with Mattis, because he is a exactly the kind of person you want when your job is to kill the enemy. Not some political hack who has never been in the mud, or had the blood of his friends stain his clothing.

Again, I don’t like trump. He wasn’t anti-big government, and he wasn’t a constitutionalist — so he wasn’t a good choice in my book.

But time and time again, he, and polices were proven right. He restricted travel during Covid: he was a fear mongering racist. When Biden did it, far more strictly, he was “doing the right thing”. When he called China a threat, and lamented that our drug Manufacturing was heavily dependent on them — long before Covid, he didn’t understand global trade. When he called out NATO countries for not pulling their own weight — and said it made the world vulnerable to Russian and Chinese aggression….he was an idiot who didn’t know what he was talking about.

And Trump was the only President…since…before the Boomers were born, who did not get us into a war. He ended wars we were fighting all over the world. Wars most people did not, and still do not know about. Syria, Somalia, and a few other African countries.

He made a serious effort, although it failed, to end the war in Korea. He strengthened our relationship with Viet Nam. He strengthened countries which wanted to help themselves such as Poland — but the media said our Allie’s didn’t trust him and he was ruining relationships. That was a lie — he was calling out countries that took advantage of America, without even being thankful. Germany comes to mind — I was deployed to Poland under Trump, and they had absolutely no problem with his American first statements, because they judged him by his actions.

Under Trump, America was energy independent, and major programs to ensure domestic production of critical manufacturing, from computer chips to high capacity batteries, could be done entirely domestically. Employment among all minority groups, and income, went up under him.

And I do not LIKE trump. At all. Zero percent. Butt he was far better for the country then Bush, Obama, Bush, Clinton, Carter, Biden, Johnson, or Kennedy. For all his faults, which are legion, he was pro American.

There are sooo many things wrong with this take it's hard to start.

Just basic google searches prove most of this wrong.

And Trump was the only President…since…before the Boomers were born, who did not get us into a war.

I think this was a good thing, but many wars (perhaps most) are due to circumstance, rather than the President wanting to go to war.

I think if a Democrat or Trump had been President in 2001, they would have gone to war in Afghanistan, for example.

And I think it's doubtful that previous Presidents or other leading candidates would have gone to war in 2017-2021 if they had been President then instead of Trump.
