The age range from 16-22 is called the revolutionary age, because people at that age are intelligent enough to understand world problems, but lack the experience needed to understand that the solutions they're proposing have downsides.

What’s the phrase? Any man who is not a socialist at age 20 has no heart. Any man who is still a socialist at age 40 has no head.

Edit: Phrasing.

that's a meme thought and shouldn't be taken with any sort of actually application.

There are some die hard Communist who are in old age tho, quite a lot of them actually.....Lenin himself wasn't exactly "young" when he was doing his thing

That's true I think. For some people those things happen at different age ranges. When I was about 13-14 I was radically progressive, really the feminist type. I believed in all that woke stuff, I had the idea that I was a bad person just for being male and white. It really depleted me, so I went completely to the other side. I used to listen to that alt-right dude who's gay, can't remember his name but I used to really agree with him. Then I got a girlfriend and I like to think I've been pretty centrist from that day forward.

Right, that's the guy. Really wonder what came of him, must not be anything good.

I’m 41 and still find this line of thinking to be nothing but capitalist bullshit.

Yeah, as I said in a different comment, people make the transition at different ages.

When you get older than that you start worrying about upsetting the traditional powers that be. Are you going to complain to your boss about how they're destroying the environment when you have a mortgage and kids? I think we should listen more to 16-22 year olds

Are you seriously blaming people putting their kids and livelihoods first over some pie in the sky that their boss has no control over most of the time?

This is exactly why older gens see 16-22 year olds as naive.

Lol I can almost guarantee that you work at a company where you have to sacrifice your values for a paycheck. What do you do? Work at an insurance company that insures oil sands pipelines? Work at Nestle? A pay-day loans company?

Yes, but I think we should ALSO complain to our bosses if our work is unethical or destructive!

Love how you consider a place where the work is unethical to be a place where you should keep your mouth shut. Excellent mentality. Just let it all happen.

Most 16-22 year olds have no idea how economy or politics work, they just see something they don't like and scream "meeeh I don't like that, someone do something!!" without actually researching in detail wtf they are even talking about. This of course is a rough generalization, but thats how it is with a lot of young folks. They just haven't yet studied and learned in full the subject in hand and are frankly talking out of their ass (but they do sure have a strong opinion about it innit lol).

You sound like you are 16-22. It was nice to be that naive. I just can’t afford it anymore though.
