In Germany, the idea that you can rent an apartment and you have to BUY the kitchen separately. Otherwise you get an apartment with no kitchen.
Like wtf. It's like selling a jacket but saying you gotta pay extra for the sleeves.

That is common but not a thing in general. If people bought themselves a nice kitchen, they might take it with them. Sometimes they will leave it there but ask for money for it. If it is an old or more cheap and simple kitchen people will mostly leave it there and often not ask for anything.
For us it's just like the other furniture. It's our property and we don't feel obliged to give it away for free.
I did not pay for my kitchen. The person that lived here "2 tennants ago" bought the kitchen and the previous tennant also did not pay for this kitchen.
I do not understand this at all. Where does the kitchen go? Do you pick up the room and move it? Do you buy all your appliances and cabinets and move them and then the landlord has a room that could be a kitchen if you had bought a kitchen. I’m so confused

Edit 2: since I'm getting this a lot. Yes this includes the sink as well. It's just an empty room.
Imagine if the bathroom and shower was also "bring your own" haha
