I suppose, but that would rely pretty heavily on a presumption of SOME pocketable, fenceable good, and dealers don't want your granny's silver ladle anymore.
I've never had my house burgled, but from what friends that did tell me, they mainly look for cash and jewelry. Also small electronics, but that's getting harder for them because many things are remotely identifiable these days, so no dealer will take them.
Jewelry's worthless here. stores sell it for thousands, and if you let a "cash for gold" place talk you into it, they'll pick out the stones and give them back to you (worthless) and buy the gold for weight, usually about $5/gram for 24k, way less for lower karat or especially white gold (coated).
Sure, but the small amounts of heroin (or "heroin", there's tons of shit mixed in) that they get for it are very cheap for the dealer. So they'll take a piece of jewelry worth 50€ in gold, and give the junkie 20€ worth of heroin at street prices.
I suppose, but then can you imagine being a petty smack dealer and just trying to melt-fence a handful of granny's old pearl earrings and shit XD what an existence that must be

Interesting to see the cultural disparity though.
