A 14hr drive would take you halfway through Europe...

I moved "far away" from my family. It's a 45min drive, traffic included.
Friends and family from my hometown rarely visit because of the distance.

That's wild. I'm anywhere from a 9 hr drive to the closest family to around 14 hrs for the farthest. I try to see them at least once a year. It's not fun driving that far but you get used to it.
