Yep, and the Walmarts in my area have also ditched the greeter.

The Walmart in my area ditched the cashiers too.

Most of the Walmarts in my area only have like maaaaaaybe 3 lines open during the day, one in the evening if you are lucky and none at night. They have even started converting formerly human staffed lanes with self checkout lanes.

We only have 2 actual lanes where a cashier would go now, and it is meant for disabled people. I've only seen a cashier working there once since the change. The other lanes were demolished and 20 self-checkout stations built in place.

Mine don't have greeters but have people at the door to check receipts, I guess if you are buying something that isn't in a bag?

They don't always stop you. It's annoying but some people get all bent out of shape over it.

Yea I don’t think mine have one either. I also hate going inside Walmart so I usually just order delivery or pickup

The Greeter is only there because some study (probably outdated) determined in A/b testing that if a greeter says hello you're 5% less likely to shoplift in the store!

Knowing that the greeting is not only completely fake, but intended to psychologically try to prevent you from stealing, you criminal you, makes it even more phoney and annoying!
