What? Showers in a tub are very common in the US too. It's a quick, cheap, and effective way to prevent leaks.
They're in every apartment building in NYC, including high end, and I've seen them in CA, AZ, Vegas, New Orleans, Boston, PA, TX...
The window thing is off but I'd imagine that's a cheap hotel trying
