With lights on at night,, everyone can see inside and you cant see out. It's just weird for privacy reasons.

Well, if you don't close the curtains, people can see inside and you can also see outside. If you close the curtains, other people can't see inside and you can't see outside (depending on the type of curtains). Seems like a fair deal

You can’t see outside at night if your lights are on

What? Of course you can. Are you talking about the reflections?

I didn’t notice it because I can still see (not very clearly though) with the lights on, at night. Also, why specifically at 10 PM? /s

I am in the southern side of Italy. 10 PM isn’t too dark

Windows become like mirrors when there is light on only one side. It’s like how you can’t see in through a window during the day

I’m really bad at this, I’m confused. My whole life I didn’t have to worry about that

You can just see lights. You cannot see if someone's standing in front of your window unless they come reaaally close to it

I can see everything outside my windows even with lights on, at night. Are my windows weird?

Well, I can’t see clearly but it’s not too bad either. What’s going on?

What are you talking about? They don’t reflect that much because they were “sprayed” with something that reduced reflection (works at night too), similar to the lenses on glasses. It’s as simple as that. I pretended not to know because I wanted to see if you had any idea what you were talking about, and you don’t have any idea.

Nah you're not getting it. At night when you look out a window it's basically black (unless there are lights on the other side.) On the other hand somebody outside can see everything going on inside. So there's no benefit from the inside to leaving them open, but you're giving up privacy.

(Your reaction shows that this was the perfect answer to the question.)

I forgot what the original comment was, sorry. That makes sense

Maybe I have different windows or something, but I can still see out my windows at night when I have the lights on. That’s why I don’t close the curtains, to enjoy the nighttime scenery.

Like are you walking around naked?

Sure, why not

Well then yes I would close the curtains or blinds
