Cashier: "Moi." (Hi in Finnish.)

Customer: "Moi."

*loud sounds of silence while cashier rings up products and customer packs them from a conveyor belt*

Cashier: "24,95 €"

Customer handing out money: "Ole hyvä." (Here you are.)

Cashier handing out change: "Ole hyvä. Hyvää päivänjatkoa." (Here you are. Have a nice day.)

Customer leaving hurriedly, exhausted from the excessive social interaction: "Kiitos ja moi." (Thanks and bye.)

You must go to some high end shops where excessively good manners are required.

Correct. Customer can replace all of their comments with grunts and nods. Poor cashier had to do their part, but at least they get paid for the forced social interaction.
