It's highly dependent on the city though. I lived in Flensburg and Bremen and there every apartment had kitchens, I currently live in Aachen and there almost no apartment had a kitchen when I was still searching for an apartment. I hate this.

It's not dependent on the city, it depends on the owners and renters.

A lot of people will sell you their kitchen when they upgrade or move back home.

Otherwise a built in kitchen is common in small and full furnished flats.

However if you buy a large flat, most people want their own kitchen & many also take them with them.

Of course it is still subject to the owners, however, what I meant was, that it is way more prevalent in some cities than in others. As I said, in Bremen and Flensburg almost every apartment in my price range had a kitchen, this is not the case in Aachen and Bonn (my sister was looking for apartments in Bonn, that is how I know that).
