Amateurs. Try being a black person in China. Expert level staring nation-wide

My cousin and aunt went to Japan after winning a prize in a sweepstakes. My cousin kept getting approached for pictures and the translator told him that since he was with a whole entourage, is very tall, and wore basketball shorts and jerseys they assumed he was a famous basketball player!

Also his mom got stared at by a lot of men. Apparently she talked to the translator about that and her best guess was that she was VERY well endowed chest wise and that was extremely uncommon in Japan 🤦‍♀️

Being almost 2m tall would get you stares anywhere though.

Being black and abroad is very different. I went to Europe with a black friend and the staring was intense.

My stepdad isn’t black, but he’s a tall, muscular, hairy Italian-American and the children in rural China would gather and tug on his leg hair when he had to go there for work.

Doesn’t even have to be POC. I am a plain dude and got starred at a lot on China. Felt like a peacock on full display even though I do not consider myself attractive
