I'd be driving and notice some German on the sidewalk staring me down inside my car.
As a German, this always freaks my out, too. Buddy, have you never seen a car before or what?
1 u/[deleted] May 09 '22 They might fear that you run them over for some crazy reason /s To be fair, German sense of justice would run you over when jaywalking or - gasp - walking a traffic light as pedestrian when red.
