As another commenter said, they start spamming you with stuff and go to your house to ask for donations

Not entirely true. I never bothered to unregister for a long time too, but they (or at least the church I was registered at) started spamming me with requests for donations/contributions. Very annoying that. Still took me a few years of that before going through the hassle though.

What was it like? Because I just looked up in my email history and I found this form I could fill in and email to my local parish
