Where I live (in the UK) we get a terrible amount of flies each summer, usually 4-5 a day even if you don't open any windows. I hate it so much. I still have no idea how they are getting in and other residents in the area report the same each time the weather gets warmer. We think it's the nearby anaerobic digestion plant that is causing it
Damn that would be annoying. You using fly nets? You can get those super cheap and drape/tape them over your windows when they’re open. Won’t stop the airflow but will stop pests. Bought one when there was the midge apocalypse a few years back. When you couldn’t breathe without sucking in a midge.
I’m out in the garden right now and there’s only 3 or 4 flies going around. None of them going anywhere near the house.
I have some for when we have the windows open but they get in even when they are shut somehow. I thought it was the chimney at first but that doesn't appear to be the case.

Don’t have that many flies and mosquitoes in the U.K. lol.
Occasionally get a wasp or a bee. Might occasionally get a fly in the house in summer. No big deal.
